1999-2006 Toyota Tundra Clamshell Bushing
This category covers ECGS Toyota 7.5-inch clamshell bushing products for 1999-2006 Toyota Tundra 4WD applications. These 1st Gen Tundra models use the Toyota 7.5-inch IFS front clamshell differential, where the factory driver-side needle bearing can wear and allow CV axle shaft movement.
Common symptoms include front-end vibration, growling, humming, gas-pedal buzz, or a “whomp-whomp” noise that changes when shifting between 2WD and 4HI. The issue can happen on stock trucks but is often more noticeable with lifts, larger tires, or increased CV axle angle.
The ECGS PTFE clamshell bushing replaces the factory driver-side needle bearing and helps stabilize the CV axle under side load. This helps correct the common Toyota 4WD IFS clamshell vibration caused by needle bearing wear.
For most DIY installers, the Complete Kit is the best choice because it includes the correct 7.5-inch bushing, removal tool, installation tool, seal driver, and seal components.
