The cover is a 1 piece Plate steel cover bent 8 ways, and is way hard to hurt in .375 (3/8"). The ring is .5 (1/2") thick. One of the reasons it is so hard to hurt is that it is manufactured out of A50 Plate Steel, thats 50,000 PSI Tensile strength. The fill plug is a generous 3/4" ID for easy fill and oil level check, it is located 1" above where the factory "Should" have put it in a stock vehicle to account for Pinion adjustment. They also come with countersunk holes and new bolts so your bolt heads won't get beat up by rocks. After welding, the mounting surface is machined absolutely flat for a perfect fit! This is a fully welded Cover, welded inside and out. This cover is made in America by a certified welder out of American steel. This and all the diff covers we carry are the absolute best diff covers on the market. Don't be fooled by cheap thin covers that won't protect.
